President

Hey everyone! I'm your new MCSS President. Which means I'm here to make your life at Mac as enjoyable as possible. I'll be working a lot with the council, the Dean, and the faculty to make sure that you are properly represented and cared for. For me to be able to do my job well, I need to hear what you like and what you want to change so that I can really represent Mac as a whole when it's time to make decisions.

So if you have any suggestions, questions, or if you want to get more involved, don't hesitate to stop me in the hall or come to the MCSS counter. Even if you don't have any problems, stop me in the hall and introduce yourself anyway! You're at Mac, so you're probably pretty awesome. This is a great place with lots to do and it's very, very easy to get involved. I hope to see you around.

Good luck on you're upcoming year!

VP Communications

MAC!!! Welcome back returning students, and new students get ready to have the time of your life! I am your new communications rep so I am going to be working a lot with our Student's Societies, faculty and all of you the students. Maybe this year will be the year for some more SSMU and MCSS interaction. We are all going to learn to love to mingle. I will be doing a lot of work with clubs and continuing the great work of MACTION, a committee that includes reps from all of our campus clubs that all come together and add positive new looks and ideas to campus. If you want to know more about starting a club or getting involved feel free to email me! Let's hope we all have a fantastic year!!

VP Business Operations

Hello everyone!! Welcome to Macdonald Campus.

This year I will be your VP Business Operations (BOC). As VP-BOC I will be in charge of the Ceilidh Pub, and Robber's Roost Bookstore, which are both located in the Centennial Center. Every Thursday the Ceilidh will be open in order to allow all of you to unwind after a long week of classes, projects, and studying. Every week there will be a different theme where prizes can be won. As many of you may know, due to construction being done in the CC, the Ceilidh may be held in the ballroom (CC) and then will eventually return in the "real" Ceilidh for its official reopening.

Enjoy you time at Mac, you can't find a place like this anywhere in the world, you have over 650 hectare of land to have fun, an Arboretum, and a farm just on the other side of the highway, and an athletics Department that will do anything to provide the best for you.

Get involved, have fun!

VP Academic

My name is Ariane Gauthier and I am excited to be back on the MCSS executive as your VP Academic. What does this mean to you? The VP academic of MCSS maintains relations between the students and some of the many levels of administration at McGill University on both campuses. My job is to make sure your student rights are respected and that any academic concern is dealt with fairly. Furthermore, I am in charge of the Mid-Term Evaluations which are unique to our campus and are held bi-annually.

Students can be a very influential group at the University if we inform ourselves of the openings available to us and use them to make our opinions heard. Whether it is through administrative committees, a vote on a referendum question, task forces, course evaluations, or Town Hall meetings; we as students have the power to affect change and decide what happens on our campus. It is important to carry on our active involvement in order to ensure that students continue to be included.

To represent you best, I want to hear from you as often as possible. Feel free to say 'hi' to me on campus or send me an email. Feel free to talk with me about anything from funny Ceilidh stories to organoleptic properties to the latest find on Youtube! I'm here for any problems/concerns you may have with the University. I look forward to representing you next year and hope that you will take advantage of all of the opportunities students have to express their opinion and impart change.

Board of Governors Rep

As a MCSS representative for the Board of Governors, I would be attending the Board of Governors meetings as an observer. The Board of Governors, which is the highest governing body of McGill University, is composed of 25 voting members and two observers. The board has the final authority over the administration and maintenance of university affairs. Even though I do not vote at the board meetings, I still do have the opportunity to help determine the university's future. If you have any questions about that position, feel free to contact me.

Environmental Advisor

Hello Mac!
My name is Jennifer Dumoulin and I will be your Environmental Advisor! In the next year I plan to work very closely with the MAC Enviro Committee and the Sustainability Office downtown to get things moving and make this campus more enviro-friendly!!! I need your help and I welcome all volunteers and suggestions! Don't worry; I'm not just an enviro freak. I apply my knowledge, expertise and muscles in all aspects of student life, so if you're interested in getting involved on campus in any way related to the environment (which is a very broad category) I can help direct you ? And on the way, I'll help you meet interesting people from all areas of campus. So let me know what you want and I'll get the ball ROLLING, YEAH!
P.S. Add me on facebook and get to know what projects I'm working on!!!

Business Operations Committee Member

Hi! I'm Katie Bieber and finally a U1 here at MacDonald Campus. I'm the lone American on MCSS and have been voted in as a Business Operations Committee member! As a member of BOC I will work closely with our fabulous FMT student Peter Pertschy, VP BOC. Together we will be making decisions about the Ceilidh, our on-campus bar, which has themed parties every Thursday night! We also help maintain the Roober's Roost Bookstore, ensuring all of your books and materials are right at your fingertips! If you have any suggestions for Ceilidh themes, new alcoholic beverages or the bookstore feel free to contact me! Facebook is the easiest way to keep in touch, so look me up! See you soon!
